WHAT is SDWAN

Ø  SD-WAN is an acronym for software-defined networking in a wide area network.
Ø  Software-defined networking wide area network (SDN-WAN)
Ø  SDN-WAN is a specific application of SDN that is applied to the WAN and used to connect enterprise networks, including branch offices and data centers, over vast geographic distances.
Ø   (SD-WAN or SDWAN) is a specific application of software-defined networking (SDN) technology applied to WAN connections such as broadband internet, 4G, LTE, or MPLS. It connects enterprise networks — including branch offices and data centers — over large geographic distances.
Ø  SD-WAN uses a centralized control function to securely and intelligently direct traffic across the WAN. This increases application performance, resulting in enhanced user experience, increased business productivity and reduced costs for IT.
Ø  A key application of SD-WAN is to allow companies to build higher-performance WANs using lower-cost and commercially available Internet access, enabling businesses to partially or wholly replace more expensive private WAN connection technologies such as MPLS.

Ø  Software-defined wide area networks, a software approach managing wide-area networks, offers ease of deployment, central manageability and reduced costs, and can improve connectivity to branch offices and the cloud.
